Now in it’s 83rd year, Toledo Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker continues to hold the record for the longest running production in North America. Toledo Ballet Artistic Director Eric Otto uses his own choreographic magic to bring this timeless holiday tale to life at the Stranahan. 

Toledo Ballet’s Nutcracker is the only Nutcracker in the region performed with live orchestra – the Toledo Symphony with Alain Trudel conducting.  

With over 2,400 seats, the facility was constructed in 1969 and until the mid-1990s was called Masonic Auditorium.

Attached to the west side of the theater is a structure that was owned and occupied by several Masonic organizations. Fulfilling its primary usage as a concert venue, the Stranahan Theater presents approximately 170 theater events in Toledo include Broadway in Toledo and several community events including Toledo Ballet's production of The Nutcracker and other TSO and TAPA events.
