Metzger’s Marsh Wildlife Area is an ideal spot for birders, especially the variety of waterfowl and is popular during the annual Biggest Week in American Birding that takes place each May. Of course, Lake Erie is known for great fishing, and Meinke Marina has grown to become the largest marina on Lake Erie. Family owned and operated since 1979, Meinke has both an east and west location. Curtice is close to Maumee Bay State Park, Maumee Bay Lodge & Conference Center and plenty of campsites.
