This is your once a year opportunity to enjoy special menus at the Glass City's best locally-owned restaurants from Feb. 24 through March 1 during Restaurant Week Toledo 2020!
The 10th annual Restaurant Week Toledo (RWT) is an opportunity to enjoy delicious meals at special prices from more than 35 of the Glass City's best locally owned restaurants. But there is much more to RWT than its amazing choices of restaurants. Leadership Toledo, the local organization behind this seven-day celebration of food, provides important youth programming aimed at educating and motivating young leaders in our area. Before we get into the details of all the wonderful things Leadership Toledo does for the community, let’s talk FOOD!
RWT invites only locally owned restaurants to create special prix-fixe menus that showcase their creative culinary expertise. Toledo’s local eateries focus on using the freshest, locally and regionally sourced ingredients whenever possible to give diners an authentic taste of the region. These special menus are only available during Restaurant Week and feature breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee options.
Toledo is fortunate to have a wealth of restaurant owners of all ethnicities who call Toledo home and have been serving up fantastic cuisine for decades. From Mediterranean and Asian-Fusion to Mexican and Italian, along with classic American steakhouses and BBQ, you’ll find amazing eats to please your taste buds during RWT. Check out classics like Real Seafood Co., Mancy’s Italian Grill or Manhattan’s Pub ‘n Cheer. Brand new to the Toledo restaurant scene, Souk Mediterranean Kitchen & Bar, will be serving up tasty creations for their very first RWT in 2020.
With over 35 wonderful restaurants to choose from, you might think making your selection would be difficult. Think again! The RWT website makes it is super simple for you to browse, click and pick. First, click on your meal option (breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee), then select your desired area of town and your list of choices are conveniently narrowed down for you. It’s that easy!
Taking place each winter, RWT has become a much-anticipated event across the area with the added benefit of boosting Toledo’s economy. The best part? “Not only do you get to indulge in our terrific local food scene, but you also get to give back to an organization that is dedicated to developing strong leaders in our community,” says Anna Toney, Executive Director at Leadership Toledo.
Leadership Toledo’s history dates back to 1976, but its youth programs didn’t begin to blossom until 1997. “We pride ourselves on being able to offer our youth programs tuition free, but we rely on the support of a strong community to help us do that,” says Toney. “That is where Restaurant Week Toledo comes in.”
Just dine at one of the participating restaurants during RWT and a portion of all proceeds are donated to Leadership Toledo's high-impact programs designed to cultivate and empower aspiring young leaders. Through a broad spectrum of programming for young adults and high school students, Leadership Toledo offers individuals the opportunity to become more confident leaders, connect with the community on a deeper level, to grow stronger in self-awareness, and to serve in ways that are meaningful to the participant and his or her community.
