Lights Before Christmas and Hensville Lights are being highlighted across the state as part of the 2019 Ohio Holiday Lights Trail presented by TourismOhio’s Ohio. Find It Here. campaign.
The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium’s annual Lights Before Christmas presented by KeyBank features over one million lights, the award-winning Big Tree and 200+ illuminated animal images spread out across the Zoo and will be on display Nov. 22-Dec. 31.
Also listed on the trail is Hensville Lights presented by Toledo Edison and Lexus of Toledo featuring 200,000 holiday lights that decorate the buildings along St. Clair Street with a special dancing light show in Hensville Park synced to music. In addition, the Hensville Park Christmas tree stands 45 feet tall and will be on display along the Monroe Street side of the park. Hensville Lights will run Nov. 23-Jan 4.
TourismOhio, the state’s tourism promotion agency, has launched the Ohio Holiday Lights Trail for a second year where visitors can go online and find the brightest and the best holiday lights displays across the state at Holidays In Ohio landing page (Ohio.org/Holidays) featuring clickable links and a printable map to share or take along in the car.
“The holidays are a popular time to visit Ohio, and millions of dazzling lights are a big part of the attraction” said Matt MacLaren, director of TourismOhio. “The Holiday Lights Trail and Holidays in Ohio web page are both designed to help Ohioans and visitors make new memories while experiencing Ohio’s seasonal attractions.”
Located within roughly 600 miles of 60 percent of the U.S. population, Ohio receives an average of 20 million visits in November and December, many from people visiting Ohio for the holidays.
