The Canal Experience, 13827 S. River Rd., Grand Rapids, OH
Take the kids on an adventure back in time at The Canal Experience at Providence Metropark in Grand Rapids, OH.  Enjoy a scenic ride aboard The Volunteer, a 60-foot mule-drawn (that’s right, real mules!) canal boat. Characters from a bygone era in period attire greet your family as you visit a working saw and gristmill, scenic Providence Dam and lock #44, one of the last functioning 19th century limestone locks.

No visit to Toledo would be complete without a stop at the original location of Tony Packo’s, made famous by actor and native Toledoan, Jamie Farr.  Chow down on a famous sausage hot dog smothered in homemade chili sauce with “the works” at the original location on Front Street.  The kids will find plenty of choices including homemade macaroni and cheese and traditional hot dogs.
