Black Swamp Ale Trail

PRINTABLE PDF The idea behind the name, Black Swamp Ale Trail, lies deep within the Toledo area’s rich history. The Great Black Swamp (also known simply as the Black Swamp), was a glacially fed wetland in northwest Ohio that ran to the Indiana border several thousand years ago.  What was once swamp land teeming with frogs, mosquitoes, snakes and wolves, is now productive farmland and a perfect spot to establish an ale trail. Take a day, or two, and taste test some of the region’s best handcrafted beer.
