Haydn - Symphony No. 85 in B-Flat Major "La Reine"
Schnittke - Moz-Art à la Haydn for Two Violins and Orchestra
Mozart - Symphony No. 36 in C Major "Linz"
Witty and inviting, Moz-Art à la Haydn connects two of the greatest composers of the Classical Era: Franz Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Based on surviving fragments of Mozart's lost "pantomime music," with a special nod to one of Haydn's most famous symphonies, this piece is sure to delight! We open with Haydn's Symphony No. 85 "La Reine" or "The Queen" and conclude with Mozart's dazzling Symphony No. 36, written in just four days on a trip to the Austrian city of Linz.
